Gutter guard, leaf guard or gutter mesh?
Gutter guard, leaf guard and gutter mesh are different names for the same job: mesh fitted to help keep leaves, bark and seed pods out of your gutters. Our metal gutter guard options include aluminium gutter guard and stainless steel gutter guard, alongside the standard mesh option already offered. Keith explains the pros and cost differences, then matches the mesh and fixings to your roof. As local gutter guard installers based in Berry, we work across Kiama, Gerringong, Nowra and Kangaroo Valley.
| Mesh option | Choosing your mesh |
|---|---|
| Aluminium | Metal mesh, profiled and colour-matched to suit your roof and gutters. |
| Stainless steel | Another metal option; Keith explains the pros and cost difference for your roof. |
| Standard mesh | The standard option; Keith explains how it compares before you choose. |
Before and after gutter guard installation

What locals say
Very professional gutter guard installation with high attention to detail and remedied previous poor work.
I had gutter guard installed through Coast Flow and from quote to installation my dealings with Keith were excellent. His communication in relation to the gutter guard product, process and timing was greatly appreciated. Very happy with the end result.
Such excellent service is rare these days, but Keith provides a detailed review of your property and gutter protection requirements, then completes the task with skill. He arrived on time and completed the installation as expected. The result was excellent. It is a great product, and we now feel safer if fires come and no more getting up on the roof and risking life to clean gutters. Highly recommended.
Sound familiar?
- You're paying for a gutter clean two or three times a year and it adds up fast.
- Gum leaves, bark and seed pods keep packing the gutters and choking the downpipes.
- Overflowing gutters push water into the fascia, soffits and wall linings — the expensive stuff.
- Birds, possums and wasps nesting in open gutters and under the roof edge.
Bushfire protection
Live near bushland? BAL-rated metal ember mesh options are available where your home requires them, fitted over the gutters and along the roof line to help keep embers and dry leaves out.

Meet Keith — the bloke who’ll be on your roof
I’m Keith, and these days most of my work is gutter guard and bird proofing — mesh fitted to gutters, valleys, edges and curved rooflines, and mesh closed around the edge of solar arrays where pigeons and possums get in, around Berry, Kangaroo Valley, Kiama and the Southern Highlands. I’m a plumber by trade with more than 25 years of trade and construction experience, from starting out on large-scale projects in London to looking after small domestic repairs here in Berry. I know how water moves, and I look for potential trouble before it turns into major damage and costly repairs. That’s why I take the time to fit every system properly — matching it to your roof, keeping water flowing and helping you look after your home for the long term.

What does gutter guard cost?
Most single-storey homes: $2,100–$3,500 fully installed.
Two-storey and larger homes are quoted on site. Your price depends on the mesh you choose (standard, aluminium or stainless), whether your home is single or two storey, your roof type and how much tree cover you have.
If you’re paying for two gutter cleans a year, gutter guard typically pays for itself in about 4–5 years.
This is a rough estimate, not a guaranteed saving. Your payback depends on your installation price, cleaning costs and ongoing maintenance needs.

How much does gutter guard cost?
It depends on the mesh, your roof and the size of your home. Most single-storey homes are $2,100–$3,500 fully installed. Keith will measure up and give you a fixed price in writing — no callout fee.
Does gutter guard stop all leaves?
No, and anyone promising that is selling. Good guard stops the leaves, bark and seed pods that block gutters and downpipes. Fine grit and broken-down leaf dust can still settle, so most homes go from a couple of cleans a year to a quick check once a year or so.
Will it work with my existing gutters?
Almost always. We fit guard to tile, Colorbond, corrugated, Kliploc and trimdek roofs using different trims and fixings so it sits flush. If your gutters are badly rusted or sagging, we'll tell you straight — guard doesn't go over gutters that need replacing.
How long does installation take?
Timing depends on your roof, access and the installation scope. Keith will discuss this when quoting. Fast, reliable and local — based in Berry, we turn up when we say we will.
