Case study
Premium 4mm Gutter Guard Installation — Corrugated Roof, Kangaroo Valley

Installed premium 4mm aluminium gutter guard across a corrugated Colorbond roof in Kangaroo Valley, profile-matched and colour-matched to handle the valley's heavy leaf-fall, high rainfall and possum activity.
The challenge
The homeowner's property sits in the Kangaroo Valley bowl, surrounded by escarpment rainforest and tall eucalypts. The existing gutters on the corrugated Colorbond roof were filling quickly with leaves, bark and twigs, and during heavy South Coast storms water was overflowing the gutter backs and running down the fascia. The valley's high humidity also meant moss was starting to form in the gutters. The owner wanted a low-maintenance solution that matched the roof profile and didn't spoil the clean look of the light-coloured Colorbond.
What we did
We cleared the gutters and downpipes back to bare metal, then installed premium 4mm aluminium gutter guard specifically profiled to follow the corrugated roof line. The mesh was colour-matched to the existing Colorbond and fixed with custom saddles and clips so it sits tight to the gutter profile while still allowing the corrugated sheets to expand and drain. Every fixing was placed to manufacturer spec to handle the valley's wind loads, and we sealed the edges where possums and birds typically try to lift mesh. Keith completed the work using roof-safe access and holds RIIWHS204E Work Safely at Heights and a NSW White Card.
- Gutters and downpipes cleared back to bare metal
- Premium 4mm aluminium gutter guard profiled for corrugated Colorbond
- Colorbond® colour matched to existing roof and gutters
- Custom saddles and clips fixed to manufacturer spec
- Edge sealing to prevent possum and bird lifting
- Before and after photo report supplied
The outcome
Gutters are now clear of recurring leaf build-up and the roofline keeps its clean, colour-matched appearance. Rainwater flows straight into the downpipes even during heavy downpours, and the homeowner has dropped from multiple gutter clears per year to a single visual check after autumn leaf-fall.
"Corrugated roofs need a different profile to tile roofs — if the mesh isn't fitted to the corrugations, it either lifts in the wind or traps water behind it. Getting the profile right is what makes this kind of install last."
