What is diy custom gutter guard kits?
A DIY gutter guard kit is a made-to-measure pack containing pre-cut mesh, saddles, clips, screws and trims sized to your specific roof and gutter profile. Recommended maintenance
One-off purchase. Annual visual inspection recommended after installation.

Once installed, a DIY kit needs the same care as a professional install: a quick annual visual check, a brush of any debris sitting on top of the mesh, and a look after big storms. If anything ever needs adjusting, Keith is a phone call away.

Frequently asked questions
+Can I install gutter guard myself?
Yes, if you can safely work on a single-storey roof and use basic power tools. Coast Flow DIY kits are pre-measured, colour-matched and shipped with clear step-by-step instructions.
+How do I measure for a DIY gutter guard kit?
Measure the total lineal metres of gutter you want covered and note your roof type (tile, Colorbond, metal) and gutter profile. Send Keith a few photos and the measurements — he'll confirm what your kit needs to include.
+What's included in a Coast Flow DIY kit?
Pre-cut mesh in your chosen Colorbond® colour, plus all clips, saddles, screws, trims and end caps needed for the job. Written and video instructions are included, along with free phone support.
+Do I need special tools to install gutter guard?
A cordless drill or impact driver, tin snips, a tape measure, safety gloves and eye protection are the essentials. A ladder rated for the job and appropriate roof access equipment are also required.
+How long does DIY installation take?
A confident DIYer with a helper can complete most single-storey homes in a weekend. Two people is safer and considerably faster than solo work.
+Is DIY gutter guard as good as professional installation?
The materials are identical to the ones Coast Flow installs professionally. The finished result depends on the care taken during install — following the instructions carefully produces a long-lasting job.
+Can one person install a DIY kit?
It's possible on single-storey homes with straightforward rooflines, but two people is strongly recommended for safety, speed and cleaner joins.
+What safety gear do I need?
A rated ladder set up on stable ground, gloves, safety glasses, non-slip footwear and — for anything beyond a low single-storey roof — a harness anchored correctly. Never work in wet, windy or extreme heat conditions.
+Can I install a DIY kit on a two-storey home?
Only if you have the correct height-safety equipment and experience. Most homeowners are better off booking a professional install for two-storey work.
+What roof types do your DIY kits fit?
Tile, Colorbond, corrugated iron, Trimdek and standing seam. Send photos when ordering and Keith will confirm the fixings needed.
+What gutter profiles do your kits work with?
Quad, half-round, box and squareline gutter profiles. Photos with your enquiry help us match trims and clips exactly.
+Do you ship DIY kits across NSW?
Yes. DIY kits ship right across NSW, with delivery timing quoted at the time of order.
+How long does shipping take?
Most kits are cut, packed and dispatched within one to two weeks of the deposit being paid. Transit time depends on your address.
+What happens if I measure wrong?
If a small offcut is short we can supply an extra piece. Send photos before starting and Keith will help you sanity-check your measurements.
+Can I get phone support during installation?
Yes. Free phone support from Keith is included with every DIY kit — most snags are solved in a five-minute call.
+Do I need to clean gutters before I install the kit?
Yes. The mesh needs to sit over clean gutters, so a full clean is required first. Take the opportunity to also flush the downpipes.
+What colour options are available?
The full Colorbond® colour range is available for mesh and trims. Match to your existing roof or gutter for the cleanest finish.
+Can I install a DIY kit around solar panels?
Yes. The kit can be measured around an existing solar array. Send photos so Keith can plan the mesh runs around the panels.
+Is a DIY kit ember-rated for bushfire zones?
Yes — Coast Flow can supply AS3959-compliant ember mesh with 2 mm aperture for BAL-rated properties. Specify your BAL rating when ordering.
+Can I return a kit if I change my mind?
Because kits are custom-cut to your measurements, they cannot be returned for a refund. Unused general components may be exchanged where practical.
+Do I need to seal or paint anything?
No. The mesh and trims arrive pre-finished in your chosen Colorbond® colour and require no painting or sealing.
+How is the mesh fixed to the roof?
Under the first row of tiles or with saddles on metal roofs, and screwed or clipped to the gutter edge — the exact method is covered step-by-step in the instructions supplied with your kit.
+What warranty comes with the mesh?
You receive the manufacturer's product warranty (typically 10–25 years depending on the product). Workmanship is your responsibility on a DIY install.
+Can I add to the kit later?
Yes. If you want to extend coverage or add ember guard later, just contact Keith with your original order details and we'll match the product and colour.
+Will DIY gutter guard void my roof warranty?
Not when installed following the supplied instructions and using the fixings provided. Improvised fixings that pierce roof sheets in unapproved ways may affect your roof warranty.
+What if my roof has skylights, aerials or vents?
The mesh is run around penetrations and closed off with trims to keep the roof line sealed. Include these in your photos so Keith can spec the right trims.
